Liv Wan

Hello, I’m Liv and I’m originally from Taipei, Taiwan. I moved to Edinburgh, United Kingdom with my husband late 2008 and before that I lived in Birmingham, UK and Shanghai, China.

Before I turned my career around I worked for many years as a professional chef. After a few years I had enough of the terrible hours and pay, and I also wanted to start a family which is very difficult when you work as a chef, so I decided to change my career. I went back to college so I could study and become an illustrator. I gained a HND at Edinburgh College followed immediately by a BA(Hons) at Edinburgh College of Art in 2016. Since graduating I have only worked as a full-time illustrator.

I mainly use Adobe Illustrator to create all of my illustrations an I also use Adobe Photoshop to do my final editing and give pictures their final looks. My illustration style is bold, colourful and happy. I want to bring happiness to people you who view my illustrations.

Apart from working as an illustrator, I also had my own food blog and I teach a “food illustration” class online in Chinese.

I started taking Lilla Roger’s Make Art That Sells course in 2017 and I really want to target different parts of the illustration marketing including, as a few examples, art licensing and surface design. Most of my paid illustration work comes from Children’s illustration and advertising campaigns.

If you are interested in working with me or have any kinds of questions, please feel free to contact me directly. All my illustrations and designs are available for art licensing and I also sells prints and products on my website. Please contact me.
